Detective Sergeant, South Australia Police, Joint Policing Cybercrime Coordination Centre
Detective Sergeant Martin Burke of the South Australia Police (SAPOL), boasts an extensive 30-year career and until recently was the team leader of a small specialised unit of dedicated officers who conduct the initial investigation into reports of cybercrime. In this role he has observed firsthand the negative impact that the use of cryptocurrencies by criminals can have on the vulnerable, elderly and/or inexperienced.
Martin has now been seconded to the Australian Federal Police, as SAPOL’s representative, to the Joint Policing Cybercrime Coordination Centre (JPC3) where he is involved in state, national and internationally based investigation, disruption and crime prevention.

As the Fraud Manager at Swyftx, an Australian cryptocurrency exchange, Gabby brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of financial crime. With a solid educational background, she holds a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Analysis, a Certificate III in Investigative Services, and Restorative Justice Practitioner Certification. Over the course of her career, Gabby has amassed 8 years of experience dedicated to combating financial crime. She honed her investigative skills at Risk & Security Management, Australia's leading integrated provider of mercantile and investigation services, where she specialised in skip tracing, locating persons of interest. Her proficiency in the field was further demonstrated during her tenure at Suncorp, where she served as a Fraud Investigator and Intelligence Analyst within the Insurance Fraud domain.
Currently leading a team of Fraud Officers at Swyftx, Gabby is at the forefront of the company's efforts to mitigate fraud and scams, leveraging her background in financial crime prevention. Her strategic approach to risk management and dedication to staying ahead of evolving threats ensures the platform's security and trustworthiness.
Simon Callaghan

Simon is CEO of Blockchain Australia, the peak industry body for blockchain technology in Australia. He joined Blockchain Australia from the University of Cambridge, where he led the Digital Assets Programme. Simon worked with Austrade at the New York Consulate covering FinTech and Blockchain, before spending time as Asia Lead & Head of OTC Markets at Celsius and as VP of Business Development with Vauld. With a post-MBA from AGSM, Simon joined global system integrator Infosys. Simon's technical background is spatial technologies.

Jonno Newman is a member of TRM’s Global Investigations team, based in Adelaide, Australia. He previously spent almost 13 years in the South Australia Police (SAPOL), including as head of its Cybercrime Training and Prevention Section, and a year as a senior investigator and trainer within Kraken Digital Asset Exchange’s Financial Intelligence Unit.
